CALL TO AUDITION  for GLORIOUS

Nanaimo Theatre Group’s opening show of the 25-26 Season

Wednesday 11th June 5.30 pm – 8 pm

Saturday 14th June 1.30 pm – 4 pm 

​

At the Bailey Studio, 2373 Rosstown Road, Nanaimo

​

Roles: 4 females and 2 males:

​

Florence Foster Jenkins, Age 50s, 60s or 70s

Female lead, preferably someone who can sing (a little). Florence is gregarious, loves life and loves to her entertain her friends. The eternal optimist. She believes she can sing but in reality, is dreadful. 

Cosme McMoon, Age 20s - 30s possibly early 40s

Young gentle, slightly effeminate piano player who needs the money to pay his rent. 

St. Clair, Age 50s, 60s or 70s

Florence’s devoted male companion/husband. St. Clair is a not so successful English actor. He has resided in the USA for many years and been with Florence for 10.   

Dorothy, Age 50s - 60s or 70s

Florence’s good friend who loves nothing better than to craft. 

Maria, any age

Mexican housekeeper who can only speak Spanish. Maria is quite feisty and not too proficient. Help/coaching will be available for non-Spanish speaker.

Mrs. Johnson, any age

Outraged member of the public and music lover who tries to put a stop to Florence’s singing. (Small part). 

​

Glorious is a comedy based on the true story of Florence Foster Jenkins, information on this remarkable lady can be seen on Wikipedia.

Production dates:  15th October - 2nd November 2025

Rehearsal period:  Read through on July 8, rehearsals start 27th July onwards, Sundays (time to be decided), Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7 to 10 pm.
