Jeanne-Ackles Cardinal

I have been a specialty set painter for over 25 years at the Qualicum Beach Village Theatre for Echo players and Bard 2 Broadway and have been a lead painter for 16 years.  December 2022, I was approached by Jolyan Brown of the Nanaimo Theatre Group at the Bailey Studio in Nanaimo.  He came to see the play at the Village Theatre as a guest, because he had designed the set of which I was in charge of painting.  I was introduced to Jolyan, by the head set builder, Julian Packer.  Jolyan was impressed with the care and  attention to detail that my team had taken in the painting of his set and asked me if I would be interested in painting at the Bailey Studio.  Since then, I have been painting at the Bailey since January 2023, as well as at The Village Theatre.  I was made lead painter on my third production at the Bailey Studio.  I was also asked to paint the set for the Qualicum Beach Dance Studio, November 2023.
